On November 11, 2013, Engine No. 58
was removed from service to undergo
her federally mandated 1,472-day
inspection, a process that will take two
years and a substantial monetary
investment in her future. We are committed
to bringing her back in better shape than before!

Find out more about the 1,472-day inspection - what it is and why we do it.
Built in Philadelphia in 1907, No. 58 has worked for railroads throughout the South and Mid-Atlantic, including a brief stint in the U.S. Army!
The inspection requires a significant amount of money and is an investment in No. 58's future, and you can help make it happen.
We'll post periodic updates and photos of No. 58's inspection so you can keep track of how she's doing.
